MECUVO / EQUIPMENT SERIES
RECYCLING MACHINERY

More than a mixed scrap load

Recover copper and aluminum from scrap radiators.

Copper-tube, aluminum-fin radiators bring two metal streams into the same load. Separating them gives you the option to market copper and aluminum individually rather than keeping their value tied to a mixed assembly.

Match the process to the core: direct separation for suitable prepared material, or a size-reduction and separation route for an assessed irregular supply. Put preparation, metal recovery and collection into one clear workflow.

MECUVO supplies radiator recycling equipment from China. Tell us what arrives at your facility, how it is prepared and the quantity you want to process. Start with a route that fits the intake, then compare the equipment.

Which radiators do you receive?

Equipment for intact and damaged radiator cores

Separate your incoming material into recognizable groups. Tube arrangement, core dimensions, deformation and attached parts help determine whether direct separation is practical or a size-reduction route deserves review.

Radiator groups and route selection
Incoming material What makes the difference Route to evaluate
Regular copper-tube, aluminum-fin cores Consistent geometry and a core that can be prepared for the offered machine. Direct core separation, subject to working dimensions and tube arrangement.
Bent, folded or heavily damaged cores Extra straightening, cutting or handling may outweigh the benefit of direct feeding. Crushing and separation, with preparation and throughput assessed together.
Mixed radiator loads with attachments Frames, end sections and other metals complicate the incoming stream. Material sorting and attachment removal plus the relevant recovery route.
All-aluminum or other heat-exchanger constructions They do not contain the same copper-and-aluminum combination. Identify the construction separately; do not assume copper recovery.
Two routes. Different jobs.

Direct core separation or a recycling line?

Regular prepared cores

Direct core separation

Evaluate this route when the incoming cores fit the required tube arrangement and working dimensions. The aim is to separate the tube and fin materials without making an entire crushing line the default.

  • Core geometry checked first
  • Preparation defined before feeding
  • Copper and aluminum inspected separately

Irregular or damaged supply

Crushing and separation

Evaluate a connected route when the normal material is not practical for direct core separation. Include size reduction, material transfer and the separation stages needed for the actual mixture.

  • Incoming attachments identified
  • All processing stages included
  • Every output fraction reviewed

Different core groups

A split processing plan

If your supply includes intact and damaged cores, ask about sorting them into separate processing groups.

  • Regular and difficult loads separated
  • Shared preparation considered
  • Investment matched to each stream
What the route should achieve

Recover the metals and keep production moving.

01

Separate the commercial outputs

Copper and aluminum should each have a collection and quality-check plan. Review the destination buyer for both rather than valuing the whole project from the copper alone.

02

Keep upstream work visible

Attachment removal, cutting and straightening can decide the working cost. Include those tasks when comparing a compact separator with a broader processing line.

03

Process your regular radiator supply

Choose equipment around the cores you receive each day, including damaged or irregular material.

From core to recovered fractions

A recovery workflow starts before the feed opening.

Collect and grade

Keep copper, aluminum and other fractions distinct. Review the amount and condition of each before valuing the batch.

Copper is not the only output

Check both copper and aluminum after processing.

For direct core separation, review the recovered tube material and the aluminum fins. For a crushing route, review the collected fractions and any mixed material that needs another pass.

The useful commercial result is the combined value of the recovered streams after preparation and processing costs. Excess metal left in residual material, or contamination carried into a saleable stream, changes that result.

Ask for relevant footage showing the incoming core, the work before feeding and the outputs from the same run. It gives your team a more useful comparison than unrelated before-and-after images.

A complete result

Copper material

Check how it is recovered and what remains attached.

Aluminum material

Assess residual copper, steel or other contamination.

Mixed and removed material

Include attachments, return fractions and residual handling in the batch total.

What can we process in a shift?

Count the work around the machine.

A core separator and a crushing line may describe capacity on different bases. One might refer to pieces or prepared-core weight; another may refer to input mass. Put them on a common basis for your own material before comparing.

Include receiving, preparation, loading, collection and interruptions. The station with the fastest machine cycle is not automatically the one that clears your daily radiator supply.

Radiator workload comparison
Work stage Include in the capacity comparison
Preparation Time to remove agreed attachments and present suitable cores.
Feeding Handling effort, changes between core sizes and loading continuity.
Processing The material, working arrangement and output checks behind the figure.
Collection Bin changes, sorting of remaining material and any reprocessing.
Before you choose a model

Choose tooling and handling for your cores.

Radiator-specific equipment decisions
Selection detail Why it matters
Core width and tube arrangement Direct separation depends on physical compatibility, not simply the total weight of the core.
Material condition Deformation and mixed constructions influence preparation effort and route choice.
Line interfaces Crushing, transfer and separation need compatible capacities and collection arrangements.
Service access and wear parts Cutting and separation equipment need room for inspection and the correct replacement items.
Build the commercial case

Compare the value of recovered copper and aluminum.

Compare selling the original radiator load with selling the separated outputs. Use the weight and value of each relevant fraction, then include preparation labor, electricity, wear parts, maintenance and residual handling.

Do not use the copper price for the whole incoming weight. Frames, aluminum and other materials are part of the load, and the final selling price depends on the grade accepted by your buyers.

Choose a setup that fits your regular volume, available space and operating budget.

Plan around your daily radiator intake.

Keep material composition and preparation consistent when comparing route options. Otherwise, the cheaper machine and the better business case may appear to be the same thing when they are not.

  • Both metal outputs included
  • Preparation and attachments accounted for
  • Normal intake rather than rare peak loads
Equipment details for approval

Request radiator equipment specifications

Request the current technical information for the route being quoted. A direct core separator needs working-dimension information; a line needs the equipment list and interfaces across its stages.

Radiator recycling FAQs

Have a question about your material or project?

Do not assume so. Copper-tube and aluminum-fin cores, all-aluminum heat exchangers, damaged assemblies and other constructions need separate identification. Direct core separation also depends on geometry and preparation.

Compare your normal core condition, preparation labor and volume. Suitable regular cores can justify a direct separation review; irregular or damaged material may call for size reduction and separation. Compare the complete route, not only the machine prices.

The accepted feed and preparation are defined for the selected equipment. Identify frames, end pieces and other attachments before the quotation so removal work is included in your planning.

They require a route-specific assessment. Do not assume they can enter a direct core separator simply because an intact core of the same original type fits.

Evaluate both output streams for the relevant feed and configuration. Define the quality your buyers require, and review mixed or remaining material rather than relying on a single output image.

That depends on core condition, attachments and the selected route. Request a complete working sequence, including preparation and handling, rather than a processing-only cycle.

Yes, enquire with the number of stations or lines and the core groups assigned to each. Shared preparation or material handling should be included in the scope review.

Give us your required arrival or installation date and request the proposed production and delivery schedule. Review the warranty term, exclusions and service process with the commercial offer before the order.

MECUVO can provide on-site assistance by project agreement. The destination, tasks, site preparation, schedule and costs must be settled for the visit.

Start with your email and a short description of the radiators. Photos of normal and difficult cores are useful later; you do not need a completed technical specification to make contact.
